?Questions?
Do you think that viral videos are a good form of marketing/advertising?
Do you think that companies should start (or increase) their advertising on youtube through ‘webstars’ (like Nalts mentions)?
Can you guys think of any examples of a youtube ‘webstar’ advertised for a company?
If you were planning on having your own company, do you think you would use this method of advertising?
1)I think that viral videos are a good and easy way to get the product of a company out to the public. Just like Nalts I think the trick to it actually being successful depends on if the company is persistant with their product in viral videos.
ReplyDelete2) Depending on how famous the "webstar" is, I think that companies can advertise through them. I think that if a company uses one "webstar" to advertise their product the company should stick to that one "webstar" because America will associate that product to that "webstar".
3) In the fashion world, of Youtube, there are two girls named Elle and Blair. They make what they call "haul videos", where they essentially advertise make-up products, handbags, the latest hairstyles, etc. Their videos have so many hits on Youtube and have become so viral that the companies of the products they display are wanting them to be in their sponsered advertisements.
3) As a Fashion Design major, I am hoping to have my own business and maybe my own line of clothes. I definitely would use viral videos to get my products out to the world. Everyone is on Youtube, everyone views Youtube, putting your product on Youtube could probably lead to your big break (like Justin Bieber) or alot of business.
JaneM91 i like the way you Think! (there are no 'fb like' buttons on this blog (haha lol)
ReplyDeletethanks for the comment!

1. I think viral videos are a good form of marketing as well, especially for products/services directed towards younger generations. My most people our age tend to spend a great deal of time online.
ReplyDelete2. A "webstar" would be a good idea if it made sense for that person to be endorsing the specific product. I think it would be important that the "webstar" be easily associated with the product.
3.No, I don't really spend too much time on youtube, any videos that I watch are usually recommended by friends as something funny.
4. If I were to start a business I would probably market through youtube if I felt like my target market would be likely to frequently visit the site. However, there are some business (a local flower shop in a small town) that probably wouldn't benefit from marketing on youtube.
