Summer time is Pepsi Time
I do not like Pepsi, but I thought this was a cute commercial. I was reading some of the comments other users have posted about the video and found that several people commented that this commercial made them want a Coke and not a Pepsi. Do you find this to be true for you? What do you think about them actually showing a Coke bottle in their commerical?

I thought this was a cute commercial but it did make me want a coke instead. If I did know this was a pepsi commerical before watching I would have thought it was a coke commercial at first. I find it very interesting that pepsi would take that chance by putting its competitors product in their commercial.
ReplyDeleteim assuming you are referring to the santa vay-cay commercial (link didn;t work) there's now another one with the polar bears in a yatch (that's why i said im assuming....) i don't drink soda and when i did pepsi-coke was never my favourite.... but if i had to drink one it would be pepsi (it tastes sweeter and coke taste flat).... i thought that this entire commercial worked it was cheeky, cute, and bold while taking me down memory lane with the music. the music was the thing that made me look up and watch the commercial~
ReplyDelete#2 i guess they showed the coke bottle just so you would know who they were referring to.. you know for those people who have never watch TV in their life, or seen any soda... or who have been living under a rock... (JK being sarcastic (= im not sure why they did this because EVERYONE knows its Pepsi or Coke .... they are the ones who compete against each other.

to answer the first question... if i did drink pepsi- after watching this commercial it would make me want pepsi- not coke....

I have always favored coke over pepsi and for this commercial to be bold enough to put a coke in it just made me want a coke even more! not a great idea, pepsi....
ReplyDeleteI think this commercial is pretty funny. I think my favorite part is where bear on the boat has the racoon eyes. Personally I do not drink coke or Pepsi, but I felt Pepsi was trying to be the cool crowd and say that Coke was just boring. In a way I almost feel that they should have left coke out of the commercial. I think it just reminds Coke drinkers what they like. I will say, every time I see the Pepsi commercials now it reminds me of marketing because of how much we talk about.
ReplyDeleteI thought this commercial was so cute. It did not make me want a Coke because there was only one Coke bottle in the commercial (which was very risky for Pepsi). However, I do remember when the signature "mascot" for Coke was the Polar Bear and so I can kind of see how many people thought it was a Coke commercial.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a cute commercial. Personally I don't like Pepsi or Coke and the commercial doesn't make me want to try either. I think Pepsi is pretty brave for actually showing the Coke label and then showing the bear choosing to drink a Pepsi instead. I think the idea to use Coke's marketing image against them and market Pepsi as the hip summer drink is a smart move on Pepsi's part.
ReplyDeleteVery bold and brave move including a coke bottle in a very coke-like commercial for pepsi. Desperate times call for desperate measures? Naturally since I only drink coke, it would send me to the coke display. The commerecial was hip but not pleasing.
